Kissed by a rose

It was a gorgeous spring day in Los Angeles. The sun was shining, the sky was blue and the green mountains surrounding me were clearer than ever. I thought about blogging buddy Bella of The Citizen Rosebud and this entry in which she took a walk, photographing bits and pieces of her town. I thought about doing the same.

Imagine my surprise when I came home to find a package from this very woman.

Back in December, I entered this giveaway at her blog. My prizes had finally arrived! Of course, the best gift of all was my friendship with her. (All together now: Aww.)

I sat on my bedroom floor, smiling ear-to-ear as I opened the box. It was chock-full of goodies! I felt like I was opening a treasure chest created just for me.

Among my favorite items: the rose ring, lip gloss & a gift certificate to her shop!

But best of all was this necklace. I can't wait to wear it!

Everything was carefully tucked into this amazing cigar box. Did she know that Romeo is the name of my Michigan hometown? Either way, I'm impressed.

Our styles are so different that when I first saw Bella, wearing this mixture of patterns and sparkly sunglasses, I had no idea we'd click! Little did I know that she would help me step outside of my comfort zone and get a little crazy with fashion. She has been such a positive influence and I can't wait to meet her someday!

With Bella still on the brain, I perused the 'net for items that reminded me of her.

Thank you for being you, Bella! Don't change.

  1. I love Bella. That package looks like she put so much care into it. Which honestly doesn't shock. The girl doesn't half ass anything, and that is why I love her face.

  2. Ah! Steph, I'm all verklempt! Seriously, I am so sorry it took me so long to get the package off to you- it's been one hell of a winter for me. But now you have it, and I'm so glad you like it! Best of all, I'm glad we're friends. I can't wait to meet you! xo.-Bella Q
PS: I love the shopping inspiration board you made. Just lovely!

  3. This is ironic, because Bella is probably my favorite blogger. (no offense to anyone, i love all.) There's something about her that makes me wish we lived in the same town. Her comments seem so genuine and real. She's bold, brave and beautiful. I always talk to my boyfriend about my blogger girls, and sometimes I get emotional because I wish I could relate as much as I do with you all, with real people living near me. I've been a loner for a long time because of some people's deceit towards me and I just haven't had the guts to surround myself with new positive people. That's where my blogger friends come to mind. You all are awesome, inspiring, brave and real.

Somehow, we will all meet some day and have one fashionable party.

Your inspiration board is perfect Bella. <3
