Look : : Summer Scarf

It is officially summer! This is what I wore yesterday to go out with Bryn... Do you wear scarves in the summer time? I have over thirty of them from growing up in Michigan that I can't help but incorporate into my wardrobe, even in 80-degree weather. Such a simple piece that makes an outfit!

Also, I forgot to announce a little while ago that Liz was able to raise enough funds for this Detroit music project! Thanks to all who donated. And speaking of my sis, she's going to have her own column coming up on here soon featuring Detroit designers and such... Stay tuned!

Outfit details: Tee - Ann Taylor. Scarf, shoes - Target. Skirt - Forever 21. Headband - Sweetaz Boutique. Earrings, turquoise ring - Gifts from my mom. Gun ring - Gift from Bryn. Flower ring - Kohl's.

  4. I wear scarves in the summer, although not as much as I would like to...I sort of forget that I have them when summer comes to be honest which is a shame because they can make such great summer pieces.

  7. I am all about a summer scarf. As long as they are the proper material (ie not wool!) I think they work! (And your look is no exception!)

  9. I don't wear scarves, cuz I live in Florida. All my scarves are for traveling during the winter months for work or for styling and pretending it's not "balls" out haha.

  10. to be honest, I don't wear scarves in summer as it's hot in Greece. But I use them let's say in May and September especially in the night when it starts getting a bit chilly!
Love the color and pattern of your scarf! It's really nice!
btw in Michigan I was visiting my friend who studies in the University of Michigan. Which is your home town?

  19. If the scarf is light enough I'll totally wear it in the Summer! It's one of those accessories I don't like to live without!

  20. I can't wear scarves in the summer because I live in the South, where a "cool" summer day is 89 degrees.

    Great outfit!

  23. Wowsers, you look incredible girl! I tend to wear lightweight scarves if there's a blast of air-con - i'm not very good with AC sadly.

The skirt and all the colour combo are awesome!

  25. Summer scarves are a total don't. Are you cold, are you hot? Make up your mind. If one MUST wear scarves in the summer, they best be tissue thin and either worn like a scarf if you're wearing a cardigan, or worn another way if you're not wearing long sleeves. Or, carry around a heavier scarf in your bag to use as a wrap when you enter a cool building; they're a staple of mine for summer dinner or movie dates, especially because they're not as annoying to carry around as anything that can't be folded in the nicest little ball.

Also, something I learned recently is that apparently scarves in the summer are also a huge WTF to guys -- I've seen many polls, and all the guys I know think it makes the girl look as dumb as wearing Uggs with shorts or a skirt. I've gotta say, I rarely agree with dudes on fashion, but they're kind of on to something.

(Not meaning to bash your outfit in this post. Long sleeves and tights would make this an extra adorable Autumn outfit, but when it's 100 degrees out it doesn't make sense.)
