Her journey begins...

My mother visited me from Michigan last week and took a train across the country! It was something she'd always wanted to do and finally got to check off her bucket list. Before landing in LA, she visited with a childhood friend in Trinidad, Colorado for a few days. The country atmosphere of farms and fauna was quite different than the palm trees and power lines she would soon see here! Have you ever gone on a train trip like this?

  3. Oooh... I love the idea of taking a train across the US! I have traveled throughout Europe in trains, but never in the US (assuming you don't count Long Island to NYC). Honestly, I have no idea of the routes they take or anything... so I am going to have to look into it!

    LOVE the photos!

  5. It's awesome that your mom did that! That's definitely quite a trip she took.

My husband and I took the Chunnel from Paris to London, then another train from Rome to Paris. I think everyone should take a long train ride at least once in your life. You get to see parts and places that you just can't get to by car, and easily bypass by plane. I'm sure your mom felt the same :)

  8. When I was a kid my mom and I went on a train trip to the Grand Canyon, and I remember a few other train rides as well but I don't know where we went. In Europe I took trains all over. I actually love train travel, it's very relaxing.

Looks like a fun trip! I'm looking forward to more posts about your mom's visit.
