Life :: I love rainy weather.

Wet, gloomy days -- like today -- are rare here in Los Angeles, but I absolutely adore them. I used to hate rain when I lived in Michigan, but now I've grown to miss it. There's nothing more relaxing than hearing the pitter-patter of drops against my bedroom window. All I want to do today is read, drink coffee and make plans for the future. I've been purposely setting aside time lately to do such things, and I haven't felt this relaxed in awhile. Below, for example, was a recent morning off from work... It felt so nice to crack open a magazine!

In other news, my parents went out last night to celebrate the day they met. They were 18 and 20 then; now, they're 51 and 53! I am so happy for them, and I feel incredibly lucky to have been raised with a wonderful example of a healthy marriage. It's awesome. I haven't seen them since August, and I miss them so much. My mom texted me these awkward photos from their date. Cute, right?

So, it's St. Patrick's Day and I have no plans. I feel like many holidays die out after college. It's so sad! No one has parties anymore, or maybe I'm a big fat loser who isn't invited to parties anymore. Either way, I might go pick up a pint of whiskey and celebrate my heritage. (Kidding. Have you seen these eyebrows? I'm not Irish.)

I'll leave you with this photo that my friend, Edwin, sent me. I think I'm more in love with his pup than he is. I want one...! (All photos in this post are from my non-iPhone unless otherwise noted.)

  1. Happy St. Patty's day..... it is a rainy day here, but I tried to make the best of it. Went down to Hangar 18 for some rock climbing and working for Lukus tonight...... holidays for sure change!

  2. It looks like you had such a cozy warm time today! I don't know why, but my memories of St. Patty's are all about green beer and being pinched, not something I miss at all! Hope you have a good rest of your weekend!

  4. So pretty, I adore the rain, especially in the city. I am irish, but I did absolutely nothing, didn't even wear green! Ireland-fail.

  8. The rain was lovely even though it didn't last the whole weekend like they said it would. I got some rainy day pics though! That was fun. Don't feel bad about saint Patricks day. I don't think it's celebrated much out here.

  9. I love rainy days too. That coffee, bagel and magazine look like a pretty good time to me right now! And seriously, I was thinking last night about the lack of parties in my life these days, since college ended. I can't remember the last time I went out, LOL!

Hope you have an awesome night!
PS- your parents are adorable. You are very lucky :)

  14. Aww! So this is the pup you are talking about! You should do it! It helps to have a pup when you are single! I'm speaking from experience! Not that you need one. Just saying, because you do say you want one. Also, that rain was a beast- wasn't it?! It was more than a "pitter patter". I was scared driving to L.A. from San Dog! I was there this weekend for the marathon and visiting my friends and family. I should've read through your old posts to find a good cupcake place. All I could think of was cupcakes after the marathon was over. And I still have not had one now that I'm back in San Diego. Also, your parents are so cute! -Jessica

  16. I like the fact you mention that your posts are from your 'non iPhone' I do notice a lot of fashion bloggers seem to opt for the iPhone as their weapon of choice.

I'm the opposite I'm not a big fan of the rain, but thats because we get a lot of it. I'm sure I'd miss it if I moved some where that was consistently warm.
