List :: 5 End-of-Summer Style Essentials

It's still incredibly warm here, and I'm soaking up these last rays of summer as slowly as possible. For us in LA, the temperature has just now dipped to double-digits! I know the weather will continue to cool down, though, as summer blends into fall. I won't be able to stop the upcoming weeks from flying, so here are a few things I'll be wearing more than ever during this transitional period of seasonal change...

a light cardigan / I've been wearing thin sweaters all season long. A cardigan is the perfect layering piece for beach breezes and cool nights. (source)

a plaid button-up / Plaid is normally seen as an autumn staple, but it's the perfect pattern for summer when worn with shorts -- especially if it's in a bright color. (source)

a pair of booties / I wear my booties year-round with skirts and shorts! They're more appropriate for summer than knee-high boots, and they'll stick with you through the fall. (source)

a maxi skirt / I don't know if this is still a trend or not, and I don't care. I'm all about the maxi, no matter the season. (source)

cute socks / Wear little ankle socks if you're worried about getting too hot. I still sport them in warm weather! (source)

  1. I imagine it's super-hot up there right now, but it's strangely super hot and humid ALL over San Diego! It's normally not like that down here, especially next to the beach. It's normally cooler! I agree that these are all great transitional pieces, but I don't know when I'll be able to start wearing them. It's soooo hot! =( -Jess

  5. This is so true. I'm doing that but from the other end, being in Australia. IT's starting to get warmer here and that excites me a little bit.

  6. Yes to all! I'm happy to transition from summer. I wear light cardigans year round so I love that knit above. Great inspiration photos:)

  7. I am jealous of your thin sweaters! FL is still too hot for anything with sleeves!

  8. I recently bought a few more plaid shirts because I've been having this "craving" to wear more plaid! I'm not usually the one to follow seasonal trends and what not but I guess great minds think alike lol
