September 2015 Blog Traffic & Income Report

Today is the day I go through my bank accounts and add up everything I've made and spent over the past month. Welcome to my monthly traffic and income report, in which I tell you the exact numbers regarding my blog and businesses.

I've been here at The Loudmouth Lifestyle for nearly five years and coaching for over 9 months. I've helped many wantrepreneurs start their dream jobs, but am currently not booking new clients until January because I want to concentrate on my new program, Quit + Commit: From Self-Doubt to Self-Employed (more about that later).

Read on to see what else I've been up to and what I learned in September!

I began publishing my profit four months ago because I thought that taking the time to manage my money could possibly allow me to earn more. What you concentrate on tends to multiply, which is why I choose to focus on the positive -- most of the time. Today, I have bad news and good news about last month.

The good news is, my...
  • traffic increased by 25% and audience increased by 34%
  • Mary Kay team is growing (I now have two members + me)
  • TLL team is growing (I have a VA starting next week)
  • happy and adorable son turned one
  • old phone was replaced with this beautiful Android

The bad news is, my...
  • income decreased by 75%
  • car broke down (so we have 3 adults sharing 1 vehicle)
  • foot got injured and I could barely walk for a week

Why am I being transparent about all this? Because I hope it encourages you to keep going, even when the going gets tough. Practicing daily gratitude and staying mentally healthy has helped. I'm still standing despite these obstacles, and I'm ready to move onward and upward!

According to Google Analytics, I received 5,108 pageviews last month from 2,384 people:

These were your 10 favorite posts:

My top 3 referral sources over the past 3 months have been Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest:

I've also changed my bio again, and it finally feels right: Stephanie Shar is a business motivation coach who helps female wantrepreneurs make a positive impact online through service-based professions.

It's so nice to have a career that reflects who I am. I encourage you to keep tweaking your online business until your brand becomes such a part of you that it's easy to emanate.

Here's where I'm at with my followings:

11,179 Twitter @loudmouthblogs ^84
2,616 Pinterest @stephanieshar ^102
2,495 Instagram @stephanie_shar ^134
977 Facebook /stephanie.loudmouth ^60
900 Facebook /stephaniesharblogs ^56
227 Instagram @loudmouthblogs ^4
145 Periscope @stephanieshar ^93
67 YouTube /theloudmouthful ^1

I have been trying to get all of my handles the same, but Facebook and Twitter won't let me live (and who knew there were so many Stephanie Shars out there)? So, that is a task on the back-burner for now. Also, starting in October I'm only going to start keeping track of the social networks that have been most popular with my audience (Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook and Periscope).

It has also been really fun revamping my graphics...

Growing my list has become my top task over the last 6 weeks as I've been launching my new e-course and coaching program for wantrepreneurs transitioning into self-employment. Like most online biz babes right now, I've been working on turning social media followers into blog visitors, and then visitors into subscribers and buyers. I love having a big project on my hands; it's definitely made internet life more exciting for me. I get bored when I don't know what my next goal is.

I now have 139 peeps on my list (up 62% from August). I know I said last month that I wouldn't release my course until I had 200, but whatevs. 70% of my subscribers are in the USA. My click rate is 7% (below industry average) and open rate is 46% (above industry average).

Thanks for reading, girlfriend.

This month was kind of the opposite of last; I made money from TLL and nothing from MK, so we will just go over the numbers for my blog and coaching business. I do have a couple new clients, but the payment has not come through yet. I only like to include the money that I actually have here, so I never include affiliate payments until I reach the threshold, etc.

September 2015 TLL Earnings:

Sponsored posts: $95.80
E-books and workbooks: $16.60
Other: $101.56

Total Gross Revenue: $213.96

September 2015 TLL Expenses:

Photobucket: $4.99
Dropbox: $9.99
Hootsuite: $14.99
Business card design: $50.00
Transportation: $35.22
Other: $36.30

Total Expenses: $151.49

Total Net Profit: $62.47

I obviously can't promise that you'll make more or less than this; keep in mind these figures are based on my own journey. Our lives are all different and I strive to keep myself from comparing.

If you have any ideas for my monthly money reports, or if you have any questions in particular, feel free to contact me and I'll address them to the best of my ability. I love looking back at these posts and seeing how much I've grown. I hope they help you, too!
